Pre-stage gearbox
Pre-stage gearboxes are an additional reduction stage that mounts directly on the electric motor and combines with a main gearbox (for example, from the BOX series) to achieve a much higher gear ratio in a compact size. We offer models from the STADIO series by the Italian manufacturer Motive.
Technical characteristics (STADIO series)
Purpose
Modular construction, supplied as a separate unit for mounting on any compatible geared motor (PAM flange); cannot be used by itself - only in combination with a main gearbox
Sizes and motor flanges
STADIO-63 (63B5), STADIO-71 (71B5), STADIO-80 (80B5), STADIO-90 (90B5)
Stage gear ratio
STADIO-63: i≈2.93; STADIO-71: i≈2.94; STADIO-80: i≈3; STADIO-90: i≈2.45 - multiplied by the gear ratio of the main gearbox
Gears
Case-hardened, tempered steel 20CrMnTi (HRC 59-63), precisely ground on the involute profile for quiet, efficient operation
Efficiency
98% at rated speed (starting efficiency is lower than the rated value)
Housing
Die-cast aluminium with a powder paint coat, protecting against corrosion caused by the aluminium's porosity
Lubrication
Long-life synthetic oil, factory-filled - no maintenance required for the entire service life
Mounting position
The whole STADIO range can be mounted in any position with no need to specify it in the order
STADIO pre-stage units are mainly combined with gearboxes from
the BOX series, see the
"Worm gearboxes"
subcategory. The final gear ratio, output torque, and efficiency
of the combination depend on the two units selected - if you
need help choosing, contact us.
